Business Leadership Development
As in any discipline, the field of leadership development advances its
understanding and practice by examining and reexamining fundamental
questions. In leadership development, these central questions include
the following:

•        What does it take to be an effective leader?

•        What aspects of a leader’s talents are hard-wired, and what
aspects can be developed?

•        How do people learn important leadership skills and perspectives?

•        Do some people learn more than others from their leadership
experiences?

•        What are the necessary ingredients for stimulating development
in leaders?

•        What are the best strategies for enhancing leadership
development?

Exploring these types of questions with our clients has been the bases of
advancing the understanding, practice, and development of leadership.
Over the years, we have refined this workshop by adding new
components, developing more sophisticated feedback tools and
methods, and studying the impact of our workshops on the participants.

We define leader development as the expansion of a person’s capacity
to be effective in leadership roles and processes. Leadership roles and
processes are those that facilitate setting direction, creating alignment,
and maintaining commitment in groups of people who share common
work.

From the basic premise that leadership roles should be filled by people
who deliberately decide they want to be in them, this flexible length
workshop explores how aspects of personality, character, vision, home
life, values, and skills match with essential leadership activities and
styles.
